Porter / Stout Social
Time: 5:00pm
To announce the results of the COC for Porters and Stouts and just another reason to get together to discuss things like Porters and Stouts, we'll be gathering at Dreamweaver Ranch in the wilds of Elmira. Kick off is 5ish on Jan 9th. Bring beer to share even if it's not Porter or Stout, but that would keep with the theme wouldn't it? And/or something eatable to share.

Really Big Deal Annual Planning Meeting
Time: 2:00pm
We will be holding the annual planning meeting on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Rogue clubhouse level. The Really Big Deal Annual Meeting will be loads of fun. Come with ideas for events or other things the club can do. If you'd like to host an event, this is the time to raise your hand. All are welcome.

BJCP Exam Meeting
Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm

We've scheduled a BJCP exam for 11/13, which should give everyone interested plenty of time to prepare. If you're interested, email Denny at denny@dennybrew.com to let me know. You should also go to bjcp.org, go to the exam center, and download the materials there. Everyone who is interested should come to a meeting an hour before our regular meeting this month (1/25) at the regular ECB location where we'll discuss how to approach the studying for the exam and hopefully set up study sessions. There will be a $50 deposit required at the first study session we put together. Exams are limited to 20 people and there's been a lot of demand for this, so be sure to send an email to let Denny know if you're interested.

A microbrew tasting event to benefit KLCC 89.7 FM. 50 breweries serving more than 100 beers! Admission $12, tastes $1.

Zwickelmania Oregon Brewery Tour

Zwickelmania is a statewide event of brewery tours, tasting, and all things beery. McMenamins High Street Brewery, Eugene City Brewery, Ninkasi Brewing, Oakshire Brewing, and Hop Valley Brewing are the the local participants. Park at the fairgrounds and ride the shuttle bus free all day.

The "for reals this time" bus trip to Oakridge. The cost is $15 a person and can be paid to Kathleen before you get on das bus. Pick up and drop off will be in the parking lot behind Eugene City Brewery. Ensure you have a safe ride home. The bus is filling up, so if you want a seat saved for you, please e-mail your hostess ASAP.

Real Ale Club Competition and Potluck
Host: Tom & Teri Fries
Tom & Teri will be hosting the Real Ale Competition and Potluck. Now is the time to start planning your brew for the gathering. This event is to showcase British Beers and traditional methods of serving them. Styles cover BJCP styles 8a, b, and c; 11a, b, and c; 12a, 14a, and 19a. The evening will begin with the beer setup followed by an English food potluck. Since it’s Nate’s birthday, we’ll also be lighting a candle in remembrance of his youth. To be held in concert with the April Club Only Competition judging. Competition entries must be accompanied by a Real Ale ID tag attached to the corny.

Sasquatch HB Judging
Judging for the Sasquatch homebrew competition. This is a must-show for BJCP exam testers.
