Instead of a regular meeting, we will be having a fun-as-always pub crawl on Saturday April 26th. We will start at 3pm at the Steelhead and migrate over to West Bros. From there onto the Wild Duck then who knows….

At 6:00 p.m. on May 3rd, after the Big Brew (see below) there will be a taco feed at Scott and Tina Ellison's to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Bean and meat fillings, soft and crunchy shells, and toppings will be provided. Side dishes and beverages will be welcome. The address is 589 Brookdale Avenue in Springfield. Call Tina at 726-1435 with any questions or suggestions.

And Now a Word from President Robin Chitwood:

It was late last summer when friends and acquaintances of Glen Falconer filled the balcony at the Wild Duck to exchange ideas about a brewfest to be held in his honor. I was happy and surprised to have heard at the KLCC Microbrew – Fest that it is actually going to happen this spring at the Wild Duck.

The 2003 Sasquatch Brewfest will begin with a brewfest reception at 6pm on Friday, May 30thand a brewer’s dinner at 7pm that evening. More information about those events will be coming out soon. The taps start flowing at noon on Saturday, May 31st and the rest of the agenda goes as follows:

There will be a reasonable entry fee ( I’m not sure what that will be yet) but it will include a commemorative glass and possibly one token. There will be more info later.

They will need volunteers for tear down and clean – up. There are already a lot of volunteers for pouring. Please contact me if you are interested in helping.

This really sounds like it’s going to be good. The hope is that it will generate enough revenue to cover costs so that it could develop into an annual event and provide a benefit fund. Don’t miss this one!Cheers - RC

Bus Trip

Chip had a great idea - instead of a long journey to parts unknown, how about a trip up the Oregon Coast? The bus is pretty much already paid for - we need to “use it or lose it” one of these days. Time to be announced - get in touch with Robin or Kent if you have any ideas or suggestions….
